The Court of the Future Network presents the Twelfth Jury Research and Practice Conference. These annual conferences offer opportunities for jury managers, legal practitioners, architects and academics to present, discuss and debate topical jury research and practice. In the process, we hope to further relationships between those working closely with juries, and encourage productive dialogues, collaborations and outcomes.

This year’s topics of discussion will include:

  • Jury management
  • Juror perception of evidence
  • Jury decision-making
  • Digital technology for juries
  • Comparing experiences of tablet use in jury deliberation

Keynote

Associate Professor Nikolai Kovalev
(Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada)

Nikolai Kovalev’s research has encompassed jury bias, comparative justice processes and human rights. His talk will draw from his work on the evolution of jury trials in post-Communist transitional countries.
